Newport Beach Brow Lift Advisement

A new progression is clutching the plastic surgery domain by storm and it is based on current techniques and concepts of how we estimate beauty and facial regeneration. Dr. Renato Calabria of VerticalFacelift.com calls it the “deflation theory”.

In the face, the maturing progression instigates degeneracy of the skin and underlying layers while the effect of gravity cause the tissues of the face to subside in a downward direction creating extra flesh and “jowls”.

The culminating aftereffect is an complete loss of capacity of the face (the deflation effect) and a respective shift of bulk from certain areas of the face to other, diminished desirability in areas such as the nasolabial fold, the jaw line, the areas around the eyes and the neck.

Todays facelift methods attempt to correct the problem by pulling in an artificial, dextral direction, producing the so-called “wind swept look”. Typical facelifts also bring a flattening effect on the face due to pulling the skin tight.

Therefore facial revitalization has been afflicted for decades by two major errors: an astray direction of the pull vector, (lateral vs vertical) and bidimensional, skin-only, (flattening) approach.

When you view how Botticelli painted Simonetta Vespucci in his Primavera’s, you can appreciate the “volume theory” of a young, beautiful face: basically, aging equals volume loss and the principal goal of facial surgery should be to reconstitute the lost bulk.

In the same way Botticelli fashioned his paintings, the vertical facelift was conceived: thinking in a three dimensional fashion by restoring volume and, therefore, youthful shape and allure.

Procedure planning is substantial: carefully analyzing images of the patient in their 20’s and 30’s with images of them before surgery emanates into the guide book for their rejuvenation procedure.

Thanks to modern endoscopic technology achieving the desired goal is possible with minimally invasive procedures and nominal scarring for a Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Newport Beach and Palm Springs, California facelift.

Using scopes with cameras affixed, brought in through small incisions, operating room monitors project magnified video which allows detailed areas of the face to be reached, with specifically designed devices. Thereby modifying and shaping underlying tissues for the best appearance.

Using similar technology, the vertical face lift is accomplished. Tiny, hidden incisions in the hairlines and mouth are made. Sutures are tentatively placed in a space that suspends and adjusts the facial tissues vertically, allowing the desired youthful appearance.

Because this method achieves its success with less swelling and bruising, and eliminating noticeable scars, after surgery healing is usually less than one week. This approach is suitable for those who’ve had previous facelifts that look unnatural or wind blow.

Due to the absence of scars, this procedure is popular among younger patients as it is less invasive. For older patients the vertical facelift is integrated with an endoscopic neck lift to rid the excessive skin on the neck.

Restoring volume in cheeks and nasolabial fold, via fat mecrografting, is achieved with an endoscopic brow lift. The finished product is a soft, natural, youthful look, with restored volume.

This technique is a combination or evolution of other methods. Dr. Renato Calabria would like to acknowledge the other minds whose thinking has stimulated him the most: Bill Little, M.D., Steve Hoefflin, M.D., Oscar Ramirez M.D., Sam Hamra, M.D. and Sherrell Aston, M.D.

Breast Enhancement Surgery San Francisco-What Incision Location Is Best

Breast enhancement surgery in San Francisco is performed more often than any other cosmetic surgery. The surgeon and patient must decide where the incision will be made to insert the implants. This article looks at the benefits and drawbacks of each location.

The most significant issue related to location choice concerns the scar that will remain after surgery. It is understood that there will be some scar formation following any surgical procedure. Any incision though the skin results in some scarring. The visibility of the scar is related to the location, surgical skill, possible problems with healing, and personal differences in scar formation.

Breast enhancement surgery requires one of four sites for the insertion of the implant. They are the navel, the axilla, the border of the areola, and in the crease below the breast. The sites each have advantages and disadvantages. It will benefit the patient to familiarize herself with this before talking with her surgeon.

Generally when inserting a breast implant, an incision of one to one and a half inches is required. The exception to this is the T.U.B.A. incision. Other factors that influence the length of the incision are the surgeons skill, type of implant, size of implant, and texture of the implant. Saline implants are filled after insertion therefore they are smaller when inserted. A silicone implant or an implant with a textured surface will normally need a little larger incision.

The areolar approach is performed by making an incision at the lower border of the light and dark skin of the areola in a semicircular shape. Often a protective sleeve is used when inserting the implant to prevent injury to the breast ducts. If a mastopexy (breast lift) is being performed at the same time, this would be the approach of choice because the mastopexy also requires an incision in the same place. The areolar incision usually results in an excellent cosmetic appearance. Disadvantages of the areolar incision possibly include a more noticeable scar if healing does not go well. There is also a slightly higher risk of altered nipple sensation following this procedure.

A second incision for insertion of implants is the infra-mammary fold or crease incision. Generally the incision is just above the fold under the breast. This is the most common site for breast implant insertion. This point of insertion allows the surgeon to very accurately position the implant. Normally, no subsequent scar is visible if the person is upright. Another advantage to this location is that the site can be used again if any future surgery is required.

The trans-axillary incision is placed in the arm pit. Once the incision is made, the surgeon can then create a channel to the area where the implant will be located. The implant is then moved into place usually with an endoscope (a flexible tube shaped device with a fiber optic camera). The biggest advantage to this technique is that there will be no scar on the breast when completed. A disadvantage to this approach is that future revisions will require an incision at a different location.

The T.U.B.A. (Trans-Umbilical Breast Augmentation) technique is performed by placing a small incision at the rim of the navel. Following the incision, a tunnel to the breasts is made just under the skin through the subcutaneous fat, using an endoscope. The empty saline implant is rolled up and inserted through the incision, then worked up to its final location. Following placement the implant is filled with saline and the fill tube removed. The advantage is the absence of a scar on the breasts. Also, recovery time can be a little shorter than more invasive procedures. Disadvantages include the inability to use silicone implants, and there are occasionally problem with “tracks” being left on the skin after tunneling is performed. These tracks usually resolve but not always.

Your final choice will be made with your physician, and will be determined by your choice of silicone or saline implants, the size of the implants, and other individual issues. Please remember to choose a board certified plastic surgeon when you consult a physician regarding your breast augmentation.

What to Expect After Your Nose Plastic Surgery

Many people are going under the knife and receiving nose plastic surgery. Reasons vary – from disliking the shape of their noses, to health grounds. If you believe that a nose plastic surgery can change your life, then you should read a lot about rhinoplasty, commonly known as a nose job.

The nose plastic surgery can increase or reduce the size of your nose, change the shape of the tip, narrow the nostrils, change your nose’s angle, and correct breathing problems. A nose plastic surgery is quite popular nowadays. It is an operation that is performed on both men and women and the recovery period actually varies.

Around 24 hours after your nose plastic surgery, your face will look a bit puffy and you could feel that your nose is often clogged and sensitive. Pain medications are important during this phase to ease the irritation. Inflation and the pressure will stay on and to help diminish the puffiness, you need to keep your head elevated. Keeping your head elevated decreases the swelling, and with less swelling you will have a faster recuperation and less soreness.

Three days after the nose plastic surgery, you will still find puffiness and bruising around your eyes and face. You will be prescribed to put on cold compress on your face to ease this soreness. It is still important to constantly keep your head elevated – as often and as much as possible. It is advised that you keep your head propped up with three pillows, also you should keep away from sun exposure for this time period.

Six to eight weeks after the nose plastic surgery, you can bit by bit see improvements. You can resume non-stressful activities a week after your plastic surgery. Still, you are not permitted to blow your nose.

Within this time period, the puffiness and bruising will go away except maybe for some minor swelling. You are still not allowed to wear glasses and if you really have to, your glasses will have to be held in place by a tape.

Steps To Follow Before Going To A Plastic Surgery

We have heard so many sad stories from people having painful experiences while getting plastic surgery. These are very sad stories to hear.

Medical professionals are expected to follow the measures but as we all know in each industry there are always good ones and bad ones. Thus patients are hoped to take responsibilities for themselves as well. Patients must know what are the things they should be looking at before receiving any surgery. Below are some of the steps you can focus on before undergoing a plastic surgery.

1. Pick out a accredited professional. It is essential that you make sure that the professional who will handle your surgery is a licensed one and is specializing in the operation you are seeking. This gives you the assurance that the doctor has received proper training and the required skills.

2. Set your goals clearly. When planning to go for a plastic or cosmetic surgery you have to specify what your sought results are and examine carefully if these are attainable. This will give you a good picture of what to expect once the surgery is through and thus avoid disappointment.

3. Make sure your health is in good condition. To get optimum results, your body must be in good condition. As the processes always involve minor operations, you will be able to bounce back quicker if your body responds well.

4. Don’t expose yourself to toxins. Before and after undergoing any cosmetic or plastic surgery you have to stop exposing yourself from harmful toxins that can impact the result of the procedure you are taking. Smoking and drinking alcohol are some of the activities that can stimulate complications and impede the outcome of your surgery.

5. Investigate. It is best that you ask your doctor for cases of surgeries that he has already finished which are related to the procedure you want to undertake. If your doctor is confident enough, he will be more than willing to present and tell you about his experiences.

6. Check the prices. This step is very important. You have to have an estimate of the cost of the procedure you want to take. First of all you will be able to approximate if the procedure is within your budget. Second, you will be able to compare the prices among the clinics offering the procedure you need. You have to think twice about taking very inexpensive surgeries as these maybe indicating the competency level of the doctor who will cover the operations.

7. Study. Study the dangers that go with the procedure you want to take. As you know yourself better, you know your limitations and you know how much pain you can take.

For now, all the best to your plastic or cosmetic surgery endeavors.

Breast Enhancement Fall-outs

Taking a breast enhancement operation exposes you to dangers such as breast-feeding difficulties or implant leakage. Thus, it is essential to understand these common risks and side-effects to better prepare you on what to do.

Quite a number of patients who have tried breast enhancement successfully breast feed. However, there is still a probability that it will interfere with the breast feeding process. Before moving through the surgery, confer with your surgeon about this. Sometimes, breast enhancement results to a loss of sensation in the nipple and breast area. This loss of sensation, which results from broken nerve endings, may be temporary or permanent. The result would depend upon the breast enhancement technique applied by your surgeon.

Another possible risk of having breast enhancement procedures are the leaking of the breast implant materials into the surrounding breast tissue. To decrease the probability of leaking, make sure that the implant material that will be utilized is approved by the FDA. Implants may also burst or rupture over time. Normally, snaps occur when there is extreme compression or trauma to the breast. It may also be due to the natural aging of the implant. Sometimes, it is mammography itself that contracts the breast implant, thereby inducing it to bust.

The biggest risk in breast enhancement rests in its inference of breast cancer detection. Breast enhancement implants may cover breast tumors during mammography or ultrasound. For patients with breast enhancement, additional views and special imaging are required during breast examination. The “Eklund displacement views” helps maximize the visibility of the breast tissue to better detect tumors.

Before undergoing a breast enhancement surgery, it is recommended to talk about the possible fallouts with your selected licensed surgeon who has adequate experience in breast enhancement. Ensure that the surgeon will inform you of everything you need to know about the procedure and its consequences.

Great Differences Of The Different Cosmetic Surgery

Cosmetic surgery costs are much wherever the surgery is done, but these surgery costs depend on the location of the patient. The cosmetic surgery costs are also greatly different from one country to another. These surgery costs differ so much that there are now tourists who go to visit a country because they can get some cheaper plastic surgery while seeing the sights. Cosmetic surgery costs are different depending on the complexity of the procedure and the qualifications of the surgeon. Cosmetic surgery costs are more expensive in some of the larger cities than the surgery costs in the central part of the country.

Cosmetic surgery costs for a complete facelift are some of the highest although there is now a procedure called a lower body lift which is more expensive than a facelift. The cost for breast reduction or augmentation surgery is also quite high. These procedures include the costs for the procedures and for the anesthesia done by a qualified physician. Cosmetic surgery costs for a new nose are also quite expensive. The cosmetic surgery costs for a more simple procedure such as an eyelift are more reasonable because this surgery is less involved than many other procedures.

Cosmetic Surgery Costs Differ Because Of The Qualifications of the Surgeon

Some surgeons are more skilled than others, and those with board certification may impose higher costs for their services. There is a new trend recently where people are traveling to some foreign countries because the cosmetic surgery costs are less, but the surgeons may not be highly qualified. This could be risky for it is not always easy to learn about the qualifications of the surgeons. People travel to Thailand, India and other countries because the costs are less. Each person should be careful for these surgeons may not have the skills of the surgeons in the United States.

Some foreign plastic surgeons in foreign countries have been trained in the United States so their qualifications are similar to the surgeons who practice in the country. Some of these surgeons might have been trained in other countries where the standards are not as high as they are in the United States. Each person will have to decide if saving on cosmetic surgery costs is worth having a plastic surgeon who was trained in a foreign university. Cosmetic surgery costs may be inexpensive in foreign countries, but there could be problems with the surgery, and the corrective surgery would increase the costs substantially.

Liposuction Alternatives

A number of liposuction alternatives exist that offer permanent removal of fat with fewer side effects and at lower prices. Other liposuction alternatives do not actually remove fat cells but tighten the skin to make it look firmer.

Liposuction is actually a major surgery. It requires general anesthesia and a recovery period. Up to ten pounds of fat is removed at one time costing the patient between $4,000 and $10,000. The fat cells are literally sucked out of the body. Swelling and pain are common side effects often require time off work.

Two alternatives to liposuction actually remove fat cells from the body. Lipodissolve is one of them and mesotherapy is the other. Fat is literally dissolved by injecting a layer of fat with a solution that the body then flushes out on its own. Lipodissolve uses a detergent formula and mesotherapy uses an amino acid based formula. There is basically no recovery time for either method. Each treatment costs between $350 and $2000. As many as six treatments may be needed. What is not known about these methods is what happens to the fat cells after they have been dissolved. If the cells are not completely flushed form the body they may clog arteries or get stuck elsewhere which can cause its own set of problems. Another issue with is with the chemicals that are used in the injection. There has not been sufficient testing to determine where they go after the job is done.

Thermage is a new technique that does not take away fat cells but in fact tightens the skin, resulting in a weight-loss effect. A machine that creates a certain radio frequency is rubbed over an area of skin. It heats the collagen underneath it and as the collagen gets warm, the skin gets tighter. Of course, this method will not give permanent results but they are fairly long-term and they improve over time. With proper diet and the right exercise, the results can be made to last longer. It generally requires six to twelve session at around $400 to $700 each to achieve desired results.

The body wrap is another low cost alternative to liposuction. Once more, fat cells are removed from the body but the body looks slimmer due to the firming affect of the wraps and the decrease in water retentions. Body wraps are all natural therapies that involve wrapping and area of the body to encourage reshaping and then drenching the wrap in a mineral solution that draws out fluids and detoxifies. Technically, there are no limits to the quantity of wraps that can be done in a single day and the extra wraps done at the same time produces results that are more striking. Each session costs between $50 and $100 and it will require about ten wraps to lose a dress size.

Exercise and diet are the preferred liposuction alternatives. It is a long and slow process that entails a quite a bit of sweat equity. Many people get discouraged because of the time and effort involved. Instant results may arouse people to be more consistent in their weight loss efforts. Liposuction costs too much or most people and it is unsafe. Less lasting results can be acquired for less money that look good and still motivate.

Choosing The Best Stretch Mark Treatments For You

What to you imagine when you hear someone mention stretch marks? What is it about stretch marks that is important or essential? What about them could you care less about? You have to be the one to decide these questions.

There are many people who are okay with their stretch marks as soon as they fade away to near invisibility. There is makeup that can cover up stretch marks as well if you look for it. You can also go with laser therapy, if you want a more permanent solution to your problem. Your surgeon will need to know what color your stretch marks are, so he or she can pick the right laser. There are lasers that will stimulate your pigment production cells, and some that make your marks less colorful.

You can even get laser treatment that will up your production of collagen to the point where your stretch marks will become elastic again. Stretch marks are caused by the skin stretching more than it can handle, so fixing that is paramount. Puberty and other factors can bring on the appearance of stretch marks. Women who undergo pregnancy or people with rapid weight gain also experience this condition. The dermis layer of the skin is what undergoes the damage. Between the dermis are the epidermis, the outer layer of the skin, and the subcutaneous layer, which is closer to your body’s interior.

Some people choose to use blue light therapy for their treatments. This treatment is also useful when fighting acne problems. This therapy removes stretch marks using a combination of gel and light.

An older, low-tech treatment is to use creams to help moisturize skin, repair collagen and elastin growth. They commonly contain combinations of cocoa butter, wheat germ oil, lanolin and vitamin E. But actually, these creams are most effective if used while your skin is being stretched to help keep it soft, supple, smooth and elastic. So prevention is a good idea for those most susceptible to them. If you haven’t applied creams while the skin was being stretched, the sooner you begin afterwards, the better.

There isn’t one fail-safe, 100 percent way to prevent or eradicate stretch marks, but a combination of some of these therapies will dramatically reduce their appearance or eliminate them. One thing to keep in mind about stretch marks is that they pose absolutely no health risk. They’re more of an imperfection than a threat.
