If you were to start a diet, during the holiday season, between Thanksgiving and Christmas, is likely the worst time to do it. It’s hard enough to avoid all the temptation that surrounds you on a daily basis, but during the holiday season it can be downright impossible.

This can be a tough time for those of us struggling with out weight. There are so many opportunities to gorge yourself with sweet sugary food, that it can be devastating to the best laid diet plans. Here I’ll give you a couple of strategies to avoid the guilt that comes with overeating.

Willpower. This is where you avoid eating anything extra at all costs. You don’t eat any cookies at work, and you only drink diet soda at the office Christmas party. The plus side is that you won’t gain any weight during the holidays. The negative side is that you won’t have much fun.

Another way to handle this is to prepare yourself before you encounter any temptation. Drink lots of water, snack on low calorie foods that fill you up. This requires looking at cookies and cakes as the enemy, which can be hard to do when your sweet ninety-seven year old neighbor brings over bowl of homemade cookies.

Last is by far the most popular strategy. Eat everything in sight, and worry about the consequences later. There’s a reason the gyms are usually packed after new years, and this is it. This is, of course, the most fun, but you are merely transferring any unpleasantness to the future.

Depending on your outlook, your personality, and how you live life, you now have a couple options to choose from. Most people like to mix and match, and find a combination that works best for them.

To find out what so many specialists realize is most natural way to lose weight quick, head right over to Cindy Burgenstein’s lose weight quick page.

How To Readily Lose Weight

More and more people today are struggling with weight issues. It seems that as time goes on, more and more people are simply getting fatter and fatter. If you want to lose a few pounds, you are in good company. Recent surveys indicate that up to sixty percent of people are overweight, or clinically obese. And it doesn’t seem like this problem is going to go away by itself.

The problem is why are so many of us so fat? It’s not like there is a big ambiguity behind gaining weight. You don’t wake up one morning to unexpectedly find you’ve put on a hundred pounds. You don’t go to your general practitioner and find you’ve contracted some offensive ailment called fatness that is carefully out of your control. Most of us, if we are sincere with ourselves, know that it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know why we are so fat. We eat too much, and exercise too little.

If you go to your local bookstore, there’s plenty of books on diverse diet plans, filled with low fat, nourishing recipes on what to cook and how to eat. There isn’t any scarcity of books on what exercises to do, and how to do them, and how often. If you decided to join a gym, it would be straightforward enough to locate one, and sign up for personal training. Lack of resources is not our difficulty.

Our problem, it seems, is utter lack of resolve. But is that really the case? Sure, if you unexpectedly change your diet and lifestyle, you would probably lose quite a bit of weight. If you stopped eating all fast food, and started working out at the gym for an hour or two every night, you would positively fit into those clothes that you haven’t worn since high school. But is that truly the most excellent course of action?

I think it isn’t. I suppose the best way to lose weight, is the identical way you gained it. Leisurely and steady. It took a while to gain all that weight, and it’s going to take a while to lose it. So don’t try and compel yourself to lose twenty pounds a month. It’ just not possible. If you try for something beyond what is ordinary, of course you are going to run into problems. Only when you take a slow and steady approach do you have a possibility of success.

So what is the best slow and steady approach to weight loss? Walking. One foot in front of the other, again and again. It may not seem exciting, or sexy, but walking will certainly get you out and active if you’ve been inactive for too long. And once you start a practice of going for a walk every single day, you’ll gradually start to pick up other habits as well. Try it, you may find it to have a dramatic consequence on your health.

To realize the fantastic secrets for easy and consistent weight loss, stop by walking for weight loss today.

Why They Want You To Stay Fat And How to Beat Them and Lose Weight Quick

Are you overweight? Do you struggle when you button your pants every morning? Don’t worry, you are in good company. Most of adult Americans today are overweight, or have some kind of weight problem.

And it’s not just the fat that’s the problem. It’s all the other junk that comes with it, from high blood pressure, to cholesterol, and all kinds of other life-shortening problems.

Why are so many Americans overweight? It wasn’t always like this. In the old days, most people were generally slim. In order to understand why so many more people are overweight now compared to then, we need to look at two major issues.

In the old days, most people weren’t lucky enough to sit at a desk all day. Work meant physical labor. Eight hours a day, five days a week.

And even those among us that can find the motivation to hit the gym once or twice a week, the workout is not nearly as strenuous as people’s eight hour a day jobs of a hundred years ago.

The second, and much more complicated reason is that the food we eat today is vastly different than the food we ate a hundred years ago. Before, most of the food people at was very fresh, and grown locally.

Contrast that to now, when most everything you can find to eat has been processed, chemically altered, and filled with preservatives. This can’t be good for us.

The biggest problem with this is that it can be darn near impossible to find something to eat that isn’t laced with chemicals. Even if you do find a natural grocer with locally grown, preservative free food, you’d have to take out a loan to afford it.

Restaurant food, fast food, and even most of the foods you buy at your local supermarket are filled with chemicals and junk that is just not healthy. And this can cause all kinds of problems to your digestive system.

So it’s no wonder that more of us aren’t even fatter than we already are. With little or no exercise, virtually no choice in the food that is available to us, we are left with little hope of becoming thin and healthy without a heroic effort on our part.

The biggest scandal is that there are companies and corporations that are literally making billions and billions of dollars every year on food that makes us, and keeps us fat.

Only by discovering how to eat healthy, non processed food, and purge your system of the remnants of the unhealthy chemicals that you’ve been fed, can you hope to have a thin and healthy life.

To find out how so many have discovered the way to effortlessly Lose Weight Quick, have a look at Cindy Burgenstein’s secret to Losing Weight Quick page.

Change Your Lifestyle Habits To Loss Weight

World Health Organization has raised the alarm because of the rising incidence of obesity and the health risks that come with it. Excess body fat is a major health risk factor along with the damage of heart disease and cancer. Obesity has doubled every five years. Also it is estimated that close to 20 percent of school-age children are obese not overweight. Because of poor physical activity habits, excess television viewing, too much Web surfing, too many video games, and junk-food addiction and other poor nutritional habits.

Grievously, most people won’t change the “lifestyle” habits and look to the “quick fix” procedures to remove body fat overnight. There is no quick and easy remedies to this problem. It’s YOUR LIFESTYLE, and is based on arithmetic and biochemistry. One pound of fat contains 3500 calories. To gain one pound of fat, you intake 3500 calories (Calories not spent in daily work output). To lose a pound of fat you must intake less than the 3500 calories. (Burn more than you eat)

The exception occurs when you follow a “Ketogenic” diet (as in the Atkins or Protein Power) – a high protein, and low carbohydrate intake. Ketogenic diets produce and cause you to expel Ketone bodies ( incomplete metabolism of fat) that still contain calories. Fat will be lost that is not accounted for in energy expenditure. Although Ketogenic diets are generally not dangerous, the nutritional imbalances requiring lots of supplements and these programs are difficult to follow, often produce temporary results and are usually accompanied by bad breath and body odor (Ketones don’t smell nice).

Losing weight is a simple process but you have to be patient. It took you years to put it there so don’t expect it to leave overnight. This entire issue deals with insulin control and lactic acid control. Insulin is the hormone produced in response to blood sugar and is responsible for removing sugar (glucose – the product of carbohydrates from the digestive process) from the blood. If you don’t produce enough insulin – you die but if you over produce, you become obese or very resistant and other health problems arise like Type II Diabetes.

After the glycogen (storage form of sugar) levels in the muscles and liver are satisfied, the remainder is converted to fat and stored as tri-glycerides in the body fat. When you are not physically active the glycogen storage remain full so fat storage become prevalent. With chronic high carbohydrate consumption it will lead to chronically elevated levels of insulin. When your insulin level is up you will not burn fat, you will feel hungry, and the liver will produce more cholesterol, tri-glycerides will be high and you risk many inflammatory conditions like asthma, arthritis, psoriasis, and migraines. So if you want to be healthy and lose fat you need to control the insulin your body produces.

When a using the normal circumstances of sitting, standing and walking, unless you just eat or drink extra carbohydrates, almost 85% of your energy comes from fat. Fat is the energy source of a resting body. When running a marathon 50% of you energy comes from fat. The more you exercise the more fat you will burn. The better control you have of your insulin the less fat your body will store. Nonetheless, the 3500 calorie deficit rule still applies. So a 1,000/day calorie diet, creating a 200-500 calorie/day deficit, it would take 7 – 17 days to lose a pound of fat. If you added 400 non-carbohydrate calories and daily exercise (approximately 3 miles equivalent) you could lose one more pound per week.

It is advised that exercise be at a conversational intensity to avoid producing lactic acid. Lactic acid, a product of high intensity exercise, also inhibits the mobilization of fat for energy. Losing two pounds per week, if you are diligently exercising, should make you happy because you did it the healthy way and it will become your lifestyle. Your current weight is a product of and supported by your lifestyle. Change your lifestyle. There are no true quick fix solutions.

Losing Weight is Easy When Done Right!

Finding good information on losing weight can be very difficult with all the bad advice that’s floating around the internet. Most people find that even by cutting back on fatty foods, they still have a hard time losing weight. They don’t realize that you can’t just switch from eating unhealthy foods to healthy foods and hope to start losing weight overnight. What happens when you eat unhealthy foods is that your system starts to get gummed up.

This gum quickly turns into plaque and can even lead to parasite infestations. The plaque and infestation have a long term effect on your body. It can be very difficult to get rid of this buildup overnight.

Imagine if you had been eating sweets all your life. One day you look in the mirror and you see that one of your teeth is turning yellow. Even if you started to eat healthy, it could be ages before your tooth starts to look healthy again.

Luckily, the plaque and gum build-up in your digestive tract can be cleaned out much more quickly than whitening your teeth. How do you do this? You clean out your system using a specially-formulated diet that’s designed to purge the plaque, gum, and parasites. After you clean your system, you’ll find that losing weight becomes much easier.

Once you get the unhealthy “gunk” out, you have to keep your body in healthy condition. If you start eating unhealthily again, the gunk will come back just as quickly. Having a good, easy diet plan is the only way to make sure that your system stays in great shape. You need to construct an easy diet plan that you can follow for a long time without too much effort.

People usually don’t want to put much effort into losing weight, they want it to happen instantaneously, and never have to worry about it again. If you go back to eating the way you used to, chances are that you’ll gain your weight back just as quickly. The diet you choose should help you keep the weight off, as well as nourish your body for years to come. It should be easy and fun for you, so that you won’t ever want to go back to your old eating habits.

If you take up this natural method of losing weight, you’ll find that you never have to go near a diet pill again. Most people underestimate how unhealthy diet pills are. Generally, diet pills either reduce your appetite for food, or destroy fat cells in an unnatural manner. The only way to really lose weight and keep it off is to clean out your system and start nourishing it.

By following a healthy style of dieting, you’ll be able to lose weight naturally and keep that weight off for good. You’ll be able to lose weight while knowing that what you’re doing is good for you. You’ll experience peace of mind and the true inner glow that comes from having a healthy body.

It was recently reported on NBC that fully two-thirds of Americans are either overweight or obese. If you’re in that category, you definitely need an easy diet plan. Dyan’s website on losing weight tips has important information about a brand new fat loss method. Find out more about losing body fat and keeping it off permanently.

Burn Fat and Lose Weight by Eating More!

Most people have the wrong idea about losing weight and burning fat. It’s not about reducing the amount you eat, going on “fat-burning” diets, or popping lots of diet pills. Instead, the secret to successfully burning fat and losing weight lies in having a great strategy for what you eat.

If you’ve ever been around people who are dieting, you may have noticed how ineffective “low fat” diets are. Even when people are constantly checking the food labels to make sure theyre not consuming “fatty” foods, they still don’t lose weight! This should be more than enough proof that “low-fat” diets aren’t the cure-all that they’re supposed to be.

One other kind of diet that’s quite popular but not very effective is a low-carb diet. This diet will let you lose weight temporarily, but is unsustainable in the long run. In addition, you’ll usually feel terrible emotionally, and have a horrible body odor because of the high acidity of the foods. And to top it off, you’ll never be able to have a meal out with your friends if you’re on one of these diets.

A lot of people think that their choice of food is the only important thing when losing weight. However, they never really look at how their body interacts with foods to see if they can improve their bodys ability to burn fat. If you were to take a careful look at how your body works, you would find that the foods you eat really make an impact on how quickly you burn fat. If you learn how to harness this natural process, you can actually trick your body into losing weight faster.

It’s not only the food you eat that’s important — it’s how you eat it. Most people eat 3 times a day, simply because that’s how they were brought up. However, the most effective way to lose weight actually involves having you eat more often. This helps you lose weight by increasing the metabolic rate, and burning fat quicker.

You body naturally tries to burn all the calories you eat every day. Using this principle, dieting experts have discovered a very powerful technique: “calorie shifting“. Calorie shifting is the technique of tricking your body into burning more fat than it’s actually supposed to. Using this revolutionary technique, lots of people have burned dozens of pounds in just a few days.

A lot of people try and try and try to lose weight, but very few of them succeed. And still, most of those people keep on using the same techniques that aren’t working! Remember, if something isn’t working, it’s time to shift gears and try something new.

Most people aren’t trying to find new ways to lose weight. Yet every day amazing new discoveries are made in this area! If you tried some of these new techniques, rather than repeating the same old things that aren’t effective, you might find that you can start to lose weight very quickly, and burn fat without ever needing to take a single diet pill.

Are you one of two-thirds of Americans that are overweight or obese? Kervin’s website on fat/weight loss will show you all about the radical new technique called calorie shifting, what you can do to slim down your waistline, and how to keep it slim.

The Truth About Obesity

Obesity can be a medical condition in which excess body fat has accumulated to the extent and can have a bad effect on your health. To define it you can use the body mass index which is the percentage of body fat and total body fat. A child’s healthy weight varies with age and sex. A BMI greater than 95th percentile would be unhealthy. The data percentiles where based on a study from 1963 to 1994. BMI is calculated by dividing a persons mass by the square of his or her height, typically expressed either in metric or US “customary” units: Where lb is the subject’s weight in pounds and in is the subject’s height in inches.

Some Asian populations develop negative health consequences at a lower BMI than Caucasians, some nations have redefined obesity; the Japanese have defined obesity as any BMI greater than 25 while China uses a BMI of greater than 28. Effects on health. Being overweight can also be associated with various diseases, particularly cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus type 2, obstructive sleep apnea, certain types of cancer, and osteoarthritis. Obesity has been found to reduce life expectancy. The lowest risk is found at a BMI of 25 to 27 and increases in both directions for men. For women the lowest risk is found at a BMI of 21 to 23 and increases in both directions.

Being obese is one of the leading causes of death worldwide that can be prevented. A large-scale American and European study have shown that the mortality risk is lowest with a BMI of 22.5-25 kg/m2 in non-smokers and at 24-27 kg/m2 in current smokers, with the risk increasing with changes in either direction. A BMI above 32 has been associated with a mortality rate among women over a 16-year period to be doubled. In the United States it is estimated to cause between 111,909 to 365,000 deaths a year, with approximately 1 million deaths in the European Union attributed to being overweight. Obesity can increases many physical and mental conditions. These common morbidities are most commonly shown in metabolic syndrome, a combination of medical disorders which includes: diabetes mellitus type 2, high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, and high triglyceride levels.

The complications are either directly or indirectly related through mechanisms sharing a common cause such as a poor diet or a non-exercising lifestyle. The link between obesity and specific conditions varies. One is the link with type 2 diabetes. Excess body fat underlies 64% of cases of diabetes in men and 77% of cases in women. Health consequences fall into two broad categories: those attributable to the effects of increased fat mass and those due to the increased number of fat cells. Elevated body fat alters your response to insulin, and can potentially lead to insulin resistance. Increased fat can also create an increase of thrombosis.

Most negative health consequences of obesity are well supported by the available evidence, and in certain subgroups seem to be improved at an increased BMI, a phenomenon known as the obesity survival paradox. The paradox was first found in 1999 in overweight and obese people undergoing hemo-dialysis, also has been found in heart failure and peripheral artery disease (PAD).

In heart failure those with a BMI between 30.0-34.9 had lower mortality than those with a normal weight. This has been attributed to the fact that people often lose weight as they become ill. The same findings have been found in other types of heart disease. People with class I obesity and heart disease do not have an increase of heart problems as people of normal weight who also have heart disease. In people with greater stage of obesity the risk can increase. No increase in mortality is seen in the overweight and obese. One study found that the improved survival could be the more aggressive treatment an overweight person will receive after a cardiac event. Yet another states chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in those with PAD that the benefit of obesity no longer exists.

With a combination of excessive caloric intake and a lack of physical activity is thought to explain most cases of obesity. A limited number of cases are due primarily to genetics, medical reasons, or psychiatric illness. Increasing rates of obesity can be due to an easily accessible and palatable diet, increased reliance on cars, and mechanized manufacturing.Ten possible factors are: (1) insufficient sleep, (2) endocrine disruptors, (3) decreased variability in ambient temperature, (4) decreased smoking, because smoking suppresses appetite, (5) medications that can cause weight gain, (6) ethnic and age groups that tend to be heavier, (7) pregnancy at a later age can cause susceptibility to obesity in children, (8) risk factors passed on from generation, (9) and naturally higher BMI. Substantial evidence supporting the influence of these mechanisms on the increased prevalence of obesity is still inconclusive.

With the dietary energy supply varying between regions and countries. And has changed over time. The average calories available per person per day has increased all over the world except Eastern Europe. Nutritional guidelines have done little to address overeating and poor dietary choice. Between 1971 to 2000, obesity rates in the United States increased from 14.5% to 30.9%. Most of these extra calories came from an increase in carbohydrate consumption rather than fat consumption. The primary source of these extra carbohydrates are sweetened beverages, which now account for almost 25 percent of daily calories in young adults in America. Consumption of sweetened drinks can be a contributing factor in the rising rates of obesity.

The increased consumption of fast-food meals and calorie intake from these meals quadrupled between 1977 and 1995. Agricultural policy and techniques in the United States and Europe have led to lower food prices. In the United States, subsidization of corn, soy, wheat, and rice through the U.S. farm bill has made the main sources of processed food cheap compared to fruits and vegetables. Under-reporting their food intake as compared to people of normal weight. This is supported both by tests and by direct observation.

Also obesity can be the result of genetic and environmental factors. Polymorphisms in various genes that control appetite and metabolism can pre-dispose a person to obesity when sufficient calories are present. The percentage of obesity attributed to genetics varies and is from 6% to 85%. Obesity is a major feature in several syndromes, such as Prader-Willi syndrome, Bardet-Biedl syndrome, Cohen syndrome, and MOMO syndrome. People with early-onset obesity which is an onset before 10 years of age and body mass index over three standard deviations above normal. Studies focused on inheritance patterns rather than specific genes have found that 80% of the offspring of two obese parents ended up obese, and less than 10% of the offspring of two parents who were of normal weight.

And certain ethnic groups may be more prone to obesity in an equivalent environment. An ability at periods of prosperity to store fat would be an advantage when food is readily availability, but would not be with a stable food supplies. The Pima Indians, who emerged from a desert environment, developed some of the highest rates of obesity when exposed to a Western lifestyle.

Physical, mental, and pharmaceutical substances can increase the risk of obesity. Medical illnesses that increase obesity risk include several genetic syndromes are: hypothyroidism, Cushing’s syndrome, growth hormone deficiency, and the eating disorders: binge eating disorder and night eating syndrome. Obesity is not regarded as a psychiatric disorder, and is not listed as a psychiatric illness. Certain medications can cause weight gain and/or changes in your body’s composition; which include insulin, sulfonylureas, thiazolidinediones, atypical anti-psychotics, antidepressants, steroids, certain anti-convulsants, pizotifen, and some forms of hormonal contraception.

With correlations between social class and BMI varying globally, in developed countries women of a higher social class were less likely to be obese. No difference was seen among men of different social classes. Among developed countries the levels of adult obesity, and percentage of teenage children who are overweight, are associated with income inequality. A similarity is seen in the US: more adults, even in higher social classes, are obese in more unequal states. Stress and perceived low social status appear to increase risk of obesity. A woman’s risk can increase by 7% per child, while a man’s risk increases by 4% per child. This could be partly due to the fact that having dependent children decreases physical activity in Western parents.
